My brother had meningitis as a baby and was left with permanent brain damage. Because his brain was attacked by a disease, it affects him in a bunch of different ways. He is generally a sweet, loving, gentle soul. But he can also have trouble sorting fact from fiction, and struggles to regulate his emotions. His sophisticated vocabulary hides the impairment left by meningitis. My family loves him very much, and I started this forum to connect with others so that we can support one another. Together we can learn about new resources and strategies to give our siblings the best lives possible.
